I think I am higher than cloud 9 as a matter of fact :D! Speaking of cloud 9, why did we start saying that? a little lesson for us this morning:

According to the "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins," the phrase is based on U.S. Weather Service terminology. This theory holds that cloud types are numbered, and that "cloud nine" is the designation given to "cumulonimbus" clouds, the highest-flying clouds around, making them an apt metaphor for being "on top of the world."

When "you're on cloud nine" you feel wonderful !
Like nothing else is really very important.
This expression means that you are extremely happy, almost in heaven.
For example: You have been dating for 6 weeks and you are madly in love with him and he proposes to you and you are in static, or ''on cloud nine"
OR:
If you have been dating for 6 weeks and you are madly in love with her and propose to her and she accepts without hesitation, you are blisfull and elated or "on Cloud Nine".

OK so I am sharing this because of the last example they have given here... hmm. 6 weeks? How is that even an example. How many people DO that? I know that I did ;) lol... met my husband and was engaged only a month later. Just curious!

OK, now to the card and reason for my feeling extremely happy.

My twine came in yesterday!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

I am one of those people who get the old stuff. I get the old paper because it is the ones that are put on sale or on clearance. I get old ribbon.. all of my stuff is old for that reason. lol! But I also get it because I love it and I wait because I know it will one day go on sale... but to have something NEW as soon as it comes out... that is a first for me! :D I was able to take advantage of the special they had last week for the $8 spools of twine. I chose the Orchid, Flax and Cantaloupe because the blue was sold out already and my impulse buying button was flashing pretty hard. I am so glad I did though.

I created this card using the Twinery colors Cantaloupe and Orchid. The rubber stamp is Fresh Brewed Designs Cutie Pie in Clouds . She will be part of a SPECIAL ONE DAY DEAL FBD is having on February 6th. She will be on sale for $3.95 .. one day only or until sold out. If she is sold out, I will add a new stamp to replace her for that price until the end of the day!

more materials: The blue dot paper is my My Minds Eye bright dot stack, the pink is making memories small pink dots, the yellow is PTI 2008 bitty dot basics. I colored little cutie pie with prismacolor markers and decorated her with glossy accents and diamond stickles. The epoxy hearts are by little yellow bicycle.

Good Morning!
I am here with a super fast post. Lots to do today!!!
I have a card to share with you that I made a while back for my sister, but I think I forgot to post and share it!

This card was created using the Fresh Brewed Designs Knit and Purl Girl Rubber Stamp. I know with all of the yarn my sister and mom has, they could actually form a ball like this :D and my mom is crafty enough, she could totally make huge knitting needles :D HAHAHA!!!

I love the color teal, so this card was a lot of fun for me to make. I even used a sharpie marker for the ball of yarn! (gasp!) I know... sounds odd.. but that is what I started off with.. and they work really well and have lots of beautiful colors.

Make Me Something Pretty ... Embarassing!!! ;D

I am back today with a tutorial
on how to make the flower you saw on

As you can see above, I stayed with the whole Paris / Eiffel Tower theme with this card. I had the card and image ready and thought the flower would be pretty with her too :D I almost took some watered down food coloring and made it pink... but ran out of time.. so here ya go! Coffee Stained and shabby chic.

I created this card using the Eat Sleep Stamp Sketch >> HERE << where my card was featured last week. Tracy suggested I make a tutorial and I did not want to let her down, so you get a video tutorial (THAT IS TERRIBLE! just sayin' HA!) and a picture tutorial because the vid is terrible (just sayin') :D

The image is one of the FBD New released digis called Gianna Dreams of Paris (yes, in the vid I forgot the name of the image ... der! and I made terrible faces ... lol) ANYWAY - I had a lot of fun making this card and hope that you will try to make one of these flowers as well. If you do, please come back and share it with me! I would love to see it!!! (PROOF MY TUT WORKED YOU SEE ;)! HA!)

Little ballerinas love dreaming of visiting amazing places like Paris, France.
A little miss at my daughters dance school fell in love with this image and her mom asked me to create a set of cards for her to have to send out over the summer or when she needs one to send to a friend. I love coloring this little girlie image, so they will be fun to make for her. She wants them all pink and black. It is hard for me to make the exact same card over and over again, so she will probably get a good variety as long as my mojo stays strong. Probably 4 different styles of cards in this set.

This card was created using fussy cutting and paper piecing. I actually cut the image out as a whole and added her to the printed on glittered background paper to make it look like a real wall. The papers for this card include two styles from the Garden Vignettes - My Minds Eye stack. Other materials include stickles, prismacolor markers, paper trey inc cardstock, GP Cardstock and a black copic spica glitter pen.

This next card is very similar to the one above. I colored it the same way, but did not add the paper piecing. I cut the image with a nestabilities die lables ninetten. The bg papers are both embossed with different size cuttlebug embossed dots. Swiss dots and a new one (dont know the name) but it is a larger size (5 x 7 I believe)

This next card was created using the new digis: Cookie Mouse

and the sentiment set with over 20 love day sentiments inside

Materials: This little mouse was colored with prismacolor markers. I decorated the little nose, eyes and cookie sprinkles with glossy accents. The icing on the cookie is Martha Stewart crushed marble glitter. It is not your normal see through sparkle glitter. it is like little bits of sparkle and white marbles. It would make really pretty snow. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye Garden Vignettes. The pink and black cardstocks are from Papertrey Inc, and I used a Martha Stewart permanent marker for the little doodle dots.

Well, I am back today to share a card I created for you using the new Freshly Brewed Challenge: Buttons and Bows. We are wanting to see as big or small, little or lot as you have on your creations. Easy right? Well, not for someone who is not so good at tying ribbon. This ribbon did not want me to play with it just so you know! I soaked it and scrunched it up into a ball and sat it in the window yesterday. Yes, it was warm enough to open a window or two :) but is rainy today :( so we will not get into that. Yesterday it windy in spurts, so at one point the screen blew out of the kitchen window and landed loudly in the sink. I went and fixed it and hours later remembered my ribbon. I looked all over. I checked out on the deck, in the grass (it was starting to rain then btw) but found nothing. I finally went and looked in the sink. It had fallen into a cup of water placed in there after the kids had finished crafting. Whew! but guess what ... it was WET AGAIN! I had to wait on the silly thing to dry before I got to create my card.

If you read and understood all of that mess, bless you :D hahaha! on to da card...

Today I created a card using the Fresh Brewed Designs Coffee Take Me Away rubber stamp. I used papers gifted to me from my DT member Linda, ribbon I have had FOREVER gifted to me from my friend Cheryl G., plastic from the face of a kids toy from Christmas, nestabilities lable 4, cuttlebug embossing folder 5x7 size, clear buttons from stash and prismacolor markers.

GOOOOD Morning everyone! I have sort of a grown up Valentine to share with you today. This would be like the perfect valentine for me... if it was made out of cake (any kind of cake) and I could eat it with my coffee... sigh.

Everything on this card has been hiding in my stash for some time now. Especially the little heart. I had some recycled handmade papers a LONG time ago that I cut hearts from and placed in a little jar. I mean over two years ago. I found that little box just as I was getting this card together and thought it went perfectly with the color scheme. The card was made using scraps and a recycled note card as the bg paper.

I colored up our little Latte Love Mug using prismacolor markers

and added glossy accents to all of the white spaces.

I have only been out of 'my state' (aside from the bordering states to visit family) a few times in my lifetime. I can probably count them all on both hands, maybe one foot ;) hehehe! So the thought of going to Paris is one that I know would never happen :D but our Latte Loving Lady sure did enjoy her time there. I think she may have been a bit under dressed. Here's hoping that she has a lovely pashmina in her shopping bag.

I created this card to follow our Freshly Brewed color challenge this week. We are encouraging you to use pink, white and kraft on your creations. You can also use something NEW and enter it into both this color challenge AND our month long prize challenge of Use Something New (heheh- i am getting repetitive, yes, I have had my coffee *sluurp*).

I really had a lot of fun making this ruffle and flower. I had *cough my mom had* over Christmas break coffee stained some old white blue jeans for me to make some coffee cozy's for my friends :) I had almost a whole leg left over ;) hahaha! so... in pinning some of my creations to pintrest the other day, I realized that my cardmaking had gotten a little... slack. I wanted to step it up a bit and make something I, myself, would love. and I did. I hand sewed the strip of jeans, stretched it all to pieces trying to manipulate it then *DER* I ironed it flat :D I used 6 non-perfect hand cut circles to create the ruffled flower. I truly had a LOT of fun making this card. AND I wanted to let you know that you can use cheaper markers to create the hilight look to hair. I have only attempted this .. I think this is my second time... I honestly forgot I could do it. I played around with my markers and really like the ones I chose to go together. The think wtih prismacolor is that they do not have as many in the same color family as copics, but I made it work... pretty good I think ;).

Other materials include : Papertrey inc Cardstock, UpCycled Making Memories Note Card, prismacolor markers (for hair: wheat, deco yellow, jasmine and goldenrod) skin (pale peach, brick beige and ballet pink) pants ( mocha light and mocha dark) boots (mocha dark) bag ( cherry and tuscan red) shirt (ballet pink, blush pink, pink)

not sure how I can get this post to sound the way the 'impressive clergyman' in The Princess Bride says it when he does, but you can imagine it! :) hehehe!!! I know if my sister were to see this card (minus the post) she would immediately impersonate him too :D hehehe!!! and I quote "Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam... And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva..." hehehe!!! Yes, I did find and copy and paste this, but I have seen that movie a thousand times when I was a teenager and can quote it, just not write it :D. lol.

All Dressed Up rubber stamp

OK, enough of that ;) and on to my card! This card was created for our NEW Challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenges. We are asking you to use Pink, White, and Kraft colors. I used the Fresh brewed Designs rubber stamp: All Dressed Up paired with a HOTTIE of a digi that will be released at our Valentine hop on Jan 19th.

I used Kraft cardstock from PTI, K&Co patterned paper, pink felt, scrap pink for the paper pieced dress, a scalloped circle nestabilitie and an inkadinkado sentiment stamp I purchased from i {heart} papers.

This one is called Fit for a Queen (or Princess) Cake. I cut the top two layers off of it and made it into a fun party hat! Didn't it turn out TOO CUTE! :D

Welcome Winter

Well... that was not so much of a happy title as it is sarcastic. I like Fall and Spring weather, but I don't like it when it is so freezing cold! and I am a baby compared to some of you because it is 35 degrees here and I am walking around like I am an ice cube. The main thing I hate is how the heat running all night makes us all unable to breathe the next day... or at least for a few hours ;).

The kids are up. One got up around 8 saying he has the flu but will still do school... ate breakfast and then decided that his flu was so bad he could not do school either. He is now in bed unable to get up or play or watch tv. He is being made to rest and lay there and will get hot broth for lunch. He thinks I am kidding, but if he continues to lay there that is exactly what will happen! ;) My daughter crawled out of bed at 9 walking around like the living dead but says she is ready for school, lol. She went straight to the table with her pjs on, hair all a mess and one eye halfway open saying "It's 9. Time for school." in a voice that was somewhat sarcastic and weird because she knows I let her eat breakfast and get dressed first. These kids. I KNEW they would pull stuff on the first day of school. The other days they were getting up at 7 raring to go, happy and playing. Silly kids!!! OK, so I admit. I have been rushing so much I am not ready for it to start either. Deep Breath. It felt good to let that out :D lol!!!

On to my card. I was inspired by the Papercraft Star challenge: Winter theme. I used my new Fresh Brewed Designs image Front Door with Wreath for this card. I kept the shades cool blues and blue greys to make it feel more wintery. I thought of making the door red, but am glad I kept it sortof muted. The l topiaries and wreath are covered in snow and the family inside is warm by the fire reading stories together :D.

Our new challenge at Freshly Brewed challenges is to use something new. I purchased this nestie die just a few weeks ago, so it is still new to me. The ribbon, flower and button were gifted to me and I have been hoarding them, and the image is a new digi I created just a few days ago.

I am off to brew another pot of coffee and take over the world... or my home at least.

School, laundry, cooking, fighting with the kids.

Yep - I am ready for it. I hope! HAHAHA!!!

I can't!

Wow how this year has flown by!

This is my New Year's themed card. I received the clock chipboard embellies (by making memories) from my mom. I could not find one in the pack that was pointing close to midnight, so let's just say she is getting her party started early! hahah!

and she has coffee, of course! So she will be up all night, no problem! ;)

The girly girl on the card is one of my very own Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamps: Caution: Contents are Hot. Her dress is all glammed up with waterfall stickles. I used papers that were gifted to me for Christmas (Basic Grey lauderdale) as was the sentiment (stampendous merry muffins). The rhinestone bad is also a RAK from a friend that I have been hoarding for about 4 years. I have maybe 3 left. :) The plastic diecut she is attached to is from one of the kids Christmas toy packages ;D (tip: save those! they make fun windows and are really cute for embellies such as hearts or flowers... and are pretty embossed too!) The ribbon is satin ribbon that I stitched myself and added behind the clock.

I was feeling a little drained mojo wise, so I needed lots of inspiration for this card to be created. I first hopped to Papercraft Star where I found a coffee themed challenge! PERFECT for me, right??!?! Then to Paper Lovin Gals for this really cool photo inspiration with beautiful colors and clocks. Then on to my first ever DT blog Inspirational Card Sketches for the PERFECT sketch!

this post is a little late.. well, a lot late.. but better late than never right?

I actually had this card ready to post on Christmas Eve, but time got away from me... and I was going to post on Christmas day.. but time got away from me. Even still, I feel that we still need the reminder that the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ.

Without him, there would be no Christmas. There would be no love. There would be no peace. There would be no friendship. He is the reason for it all. God loved us so much that he gave us his son. HIS SON. Jesus had so much love for each of us that he died on the cross to save us from our sin so that we would be able to have a way into heaven. His blood covers it all and his love is never ending. Imagine that. A never ending love. A father who is always waiting with open arms. One who will comfort and dry our tears. One that will put joy back into our hearts. One that will fill the void with his love .. a love unlike any other.

I do hope you all had a very blessed and lovely Christmas with your friends and family.

I'm Dreaming of a Sandy Christmas?

HEHEHE!!!

Here at the beach it has been near 70, even though it is nasty and cloudy and drizzly rainy (ugh!)

I guess we can't have it all. We might not be as lucky with the weather as our Beach Bums gal

who is celebrating in style ;), but we are pretty close!

This card was created using the Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamps: Beach Bums and Palm Tree
I masked our lovely lady off, stamped the tree behind her and hand drew the rest of the sand / ocean scene.

I had a lot of fun making this card. I imagine those of you who are lucky enough to go on cruises or live in the beautiful state of Hawaii or other comparable places will be enjoying a Christmas such as this :D ! Others will be making real snowmen... and we will be sitting here in mud :D LOL!!! But it is not about the weather. It is about spending time with our family and friends. Laughing, sharing, making wonderful memories together. Sharing the love of Jesus Christ on his birthday.

I hope no matter where you live, what weather you are having, your Christmas is a blessed and happy one.

Warm Hugs!

Good Morning.

The weather has been so weird here. One day it is cold and the next it is in the 70s. It looks like we will have a warm Christmas again this year reaching near 70 degrees.. but it is supposed to be rainy :(. We can't have it all, can we, lol!?! I won't complain. I can say that it does not FEEL like Christmas without the crisp cold wintery air. So whether it is freezing cold or nice and warm where you are, I do hope you have a very lovely and blessed Christmas with your family and friends.

As for Cutie Pie, She is happy to be in the chilly weather.

She loves ice skating and playing in the snow!

I created this card using the Fresh Brewed Rubber STamp

I paired her with a pastel pink and blue combo. I tried to add a little warmth by using felt die cut embellishments and a little more sparkle by adding the glitter coated snowflake brad.

So, how many of you are baking cookies this week *or opening cookie packs* and leaving Santa Clause a treat? I know we will be. My kids want to leave him a four course meal.. maybe to make him sleepy or something. They said he will be tired of cookies and needs a steak! HAHAHA!!!

This card was to be posted this morning because I made it for the Paper Lovin' Gals challenge

but I thought I was too late to enter, so I did not rush and get online. I did get online now and saw I am not too late! WOO HOO! and that I am the challenge winner for last week .. a bigger WOO HOO!

I chose to go with the baking theme for this card... and again, due to how crazy it is around here.. kept it pretty simple and sweet :D

I am here to share a quick post with you.

I created this gift set by request for someone at my daughters dance school using the

Fresh Brewed Designs Digital Stamp

Jesus is the Reason

I tried to keep the cards simple and the colors light to make the image the main focus of the card.

I printed the sentiment on the background paper, then embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder then I sanded it down a little. It gives it a very soft distressed feel. The image was cut with a nestabilities die cut and colored with prismacolor markers.

I added glitter to the edge (white marble coarse glitter by Martha Stewart). My tip for adding the strip of glitter is to use double sided tape, attach it to the place you want it to go and sprinkle your glitter over it, press it into the tape and brush off the excess. Voila! :)

and here is the sentiment I used for the background. Notice it is not exactly straight on the right side...

that was Perfectly hid behind the image I think :D

Good morning
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Ours was full schedule wise, but was so much fun.
We started off the weekend with Shop with a Cop. The kids enjoyed their first year volunteering.
My daughter had her first Show Choir performance for her Christmas show yesterday and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! We get to relive that moment tonight and tomorrow night. She is so excited.

I have a fun card to share with you today. I joined a card swap *my mom sent me the link* and I have to tell you it was HARD! I don't know about you, but I find it SO hard to create for people I don't know!
I made a card similar to this for the host of the swap. I hope she likes it. I actually wanted to keep it for myself, that is why I made another. hehehehe!!!

A Sentimental Christmas

We are having a Sentimental 12 days of Christmas at Fresh Brewed Designs. That means that every day we have been giving away a free sentiment and sometimes an image. Today I have a card to share with you that I made for a card swap.

This card is simple, but I had to keep it that way to be able to mail it ...

and sometimes (Alot of times for me) that is a hard thing to do.

But I try to keep my holiday cards simple and sweet for that very reason.

The tag on the front was attached with removable glue dots and I put a few extra tags inside as well.

The sentiment behind the tag (minus the Merry Christmas I added with clear Hero Arts stamps) is the one up for grabs today at Fresh Brewed Designs under Mocha Manic Monday in the sidebar. Golfballs or Sand?

I read this on my design team member and friends blog, Vanessa,

today and had to share it with you here as well.

Have a very beautiful and blessed weekend.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began,
he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then
picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar
lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He
then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar
was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space
between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize
that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important
things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your
favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained,
your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter
like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else---the
small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room
for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all
your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the
things that are important to you. "Pay attention to the things that are
critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get
medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There
will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of
the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show
you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a
couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Good morning!

I can not believe we are already in the month of December! WOW how time flies!!!

We are having more of a handmade Christmas this year due to all of the unexpected bills and car issues we have faced these past few months, but I am enjoying it. Taking more time to spend with family, baking, sharing, laughing, fighting... all of it :D lol!

One bill that cost me a LOT, lol, was my recent dental appointments. I decided to make him a card using my digi : Santa - Dentist. He is one of the several images in the set found here: Santa brings gifts for...

Candy Cane Christmas (and lots of jabber)

Hello!!!

I am back! WOOHOO!!!

Two posts in one day - man, I am on a roll!!!

I have a card to share with you today that I made for one of my sisters knitting friends.

Long story short, my sister was in a secret sister sort of swap (not sure what they are called in the knitting community, lol! They have so many fun themed ones too!) ANYWAY - somehow my sis and her friend ended up having each others names without knowing... so when Becky got hers, she was even more excited to send her partner her package. I created this card and gift tag set for her Christmas / peppermint theme.

OK, now on to the news I keep telling you about.

It is not a BIG Deal but is fun / happy news for me

I know I told you before (and it is in my sidebar) that one of my cards was featured in the UK magazine Papercraft Inspirations. Well, I subscribed to the mag to get that edition, but never did. I was one month too late and none of my local shops have carried it. Every time I got their mag in, as lovely as it is, it was somewhat a bittersweet moment to open it and not find the one my card was published in. :(

I got one in for Dec so when this one came in just Monday, I thought maybe just maybe.. but no. It was a special Christmas edition one. I flipped through it, grabbed some Caution Contents are Hot images, markers and my scissors and headed out the door to take Han to dance (and I was going to use the 2 hours I had to get something productive done for once!) Well, I got alot done there... 6 girls colored, cut and ready to go, 15 tags stickled, dried, tied and sold! (hehe) After a little bit of chit chatting with some friends, I was showing my friend Mandy some of the cards in the magazine. We were looking at the penguins on one page when I happened to glance over to the next page... one I had already seen several times... and overlooked somehow. I took a double take and then smiled and said excitedly "Hey! That's my card!" HAHAHA!!!

I had entered one of their challenges in Sept to use Vellum... and honestly forgot about it after time had gone by. I am so excited....

and then in flipping more I came across my friend Shirleys blog / card feature! (CONGRATULATIONS SHIRLEY!!!) This magazine will be framed in my craft room for sure! LOL!!! (not really)

I'll Have a Purple Christmas?

OK, so many of you know that I LOVE the color purple.

It has been my favorite color for... well... forever.

I love it in every shade. I love ALL colors, but something about purple stands out to me.

At the same time, I do not create with it often or have many purple items. I just like to look at it :D

Weird? I don't know. I guess I might be somewhat intimidated to create with it, but I got over it and decided to up my game a little and create a Christmas card for me :D

The Turkey Wobble!

I recently heard on our local christian radio station (well, not really local, it is broadcast all over - KLove- you can even listen online!!!) Anyway - they were talking about how a company is talking about adding caffeine to beef jerkey. SO when I was creating this set of cards, of course my thought was

THEY WILL PUT CAFFEINE IN ANYTHING!

(yes, my farmer is nice and waits until they have no clue!)

OK I will make myself sick thinking about it and not be able to eat any .. so on with the post!

I created a simple set of Tom Turkey cards to mail out. We all know that embellies and buttons get ripped up in the mail unless we take extra precautions. My precaution for these was not to have any :D

Good morning!

I am off to get school started with my little ones,

but wanted to pop in and share a card I created with you first.

This card was created using all scrap papers (GO ME!) and a newly released FBD Digi called Fairy Sweet.

She, along with several others, can be found in the NEW! Hot out of the Press

section of the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop.

This image was colored with prismacolor markers, decorated with glossy accents and dew drops.

I used the Sketch at Eat Sleep Stamp as my inspiration as well as the photo at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog

now, a confession.

I totally dropped the ball this week at Freshly Brewed Challenges.

I missed my own challenge! how does that happen?!?!

I was thiking this weeks challenge was next weeks challenge, so I created the wrong style of card :( doh!

A Sweet Holiday Treat

OK, I will admit it, one of my most favorite things about the holidays is the FOOD!

I LOVE food!!! I love creamy mac and cheese, gravy, stuffing... I love casserole... and I LOVE LOVE LOVE SWEETS!!! Oh goodness, I think I gained 10 pounds just sitting here thinking about it!!!

Today I wanted to share a card with you that I created using a newly released digi called

Girly Cake

This girly cake is not so girly for this card. I decided for this Christmas, Santa

does not need cookies, he needs an AWESOME CAKE!!! I think I will leave one of these for Santa this year :D hehehe!!! (then my hubby and I would probably look more like Santa ;) but it would be worth it!)

I have something fun to share with you today.

My daughter dances, as most of you know, but this year she is also in Show Choir.

She absolutely LOVES it!!!

Well, the instructors worked so hard with the young and older kids, I wanted to make something special for them. I decided to try something new and created this card / gift/ autograph book for the kids to pass around and sign and give to their teachers. I colored the digi to match what the kids were wearing the night of the performance to give it that extra touch of 'special'.

Good morning!

I have a card to share with you that I have had ready for DAYS just no time to post it.

I won this stamp during the House Mouse Birthday hop celebration and just fell in love with it!

It reminds me of my sister, brother and I sitting together and reading. Well, I would have been mad and biting or hitting my brother, he would have been playing and trying to irritate me so I would play with him (until I hurt him and got in trouble) and Becky would have sat there crying. :D LOL!!!!!

OK, anyway, this card is for my mom.

She is always doing so much for all of us. Always there to listen and give advice when we need it. She is my best friend and I love her so much!!!

OK, to the card. I created this card using the HM rubber stamp: Tall Tales. The papers are PTI Kraft and MME Asparagus Stack. The ribbon, flower, and buttons were a RAK from my friend Vanessa a while back (I hoard, you all know this!) and the image was colored using prismacolor markers

A FUN DAY FRIDAY...

We could all use one of those, right?!?!

Well, it was fun for me because I cant sleep in when I am sick .. so waking up early this morning gave me the opportunity to create with the newly {just yesterday} released digi, Crafty Gal. Newly released you ask? Yes, we released 4 new cakes yesterday and 6 fun, sweet, and sassy gals

I chose to use the sketch at Eat Sleep Stamp for this card. I was sooo sad (but totally understand the need for a break, esp during this time of the year) that this is the last sketch of the year. WAHH!!! What will I do without my weekly ESS sketch?!?! I know I have not been able to participate in them all, but man do I try!

This sketch was really fun to work with. I honor of it being the last challenge of the year, I even added a calendar with every Thursday marked with ESS on it :D Thank you for the inspiration and fun Tracy!

I always craft in my pjs (which usually include yoga pants and a tee :D or my sock monkey flannels) lol!)

Good morning!

Some of you know I was headed out of town today to take my son to the dr (about 1.5 hrs away). Well a cold snuck up on him last night and the drainage always makes him sick, so he started puking in the car and we canceled his apt and stayed home. Thank goodness we had not even left town yet, we were at walmart picking up tissues for the ride. ANYWAY - that is why I am here... posting my post that was supposed to be up earlier, but it wasn't and now it is :D

YAY!!!

Soooo you know why I am here right?

Here is the card I created using the FBD Rubber Stamp: Sweet as Pie

I created this little pocket with green tinted vellum. I think it turned out very cute. I also added a deeper shade of green vellum behind the pretty girl :D

The papers are by crate paper restoration collection, the image is colored with prismacolor markers, the tags and card are trimmed with the twinery twine and the little button is by American Craft.

Hi everyone!!

Remember yesterday when I shared that we were having a weekend filled with new image releases at FBD?!?!

Well, I wasn't kidding you, we are! :D hehehe!!!

TODAY we have three MORE digis to release and share with you.
They are all perfect for this super cold day we are having today too!

First up is a card that I was able to use two digis on!
This card is featuring We Can Build a Showman (Hannah Belle and Tommy) and Christmas Topiary

I used my cricut to create the window. I placed double sided tape along the edges and then fit a piece of Papertrey Inc Clear cardstock to the back of the PTI chocolate brown frame.

I then added glossy accents and glitter to make the snow.

After I shook off the remainder of the snow, I created the icicles with more glossy accents.

The images are colored with prismacolor markers. The snowflake stamps are by Martha Stewart. I used designer paper that was raked to me from my friend Rhonda.

I think it makes lovely wallpaper, don't you?!?!

NOW, I do realize that if I had done things differently I could have avoided hiding the snowman so much... but now I know and can adjust it for the next card if I choose to make one :D

BUT if you angle the card just so, you can see him peeking out :D

A Snowman's Gift

Good afternoon! I am here with a really quick post and update for you, FBD Style!

Today I have released 2 out of a set of 9 new Christmas digis to be released throughout this weekend.

Hello everyone!

I know that we are all happy because it is FRIDAY!

We have lots LOTS lots planned for this weekend. I am already tired from just thinking about it :D

We are also going expecting cooler weather for the weekend, so at least the kids will not be HOT all decked out in their costumes :) In honor of this cooler weather, I created a WARM card. This card is featuring most RAKED items. The paper, sentiment stamp (from stamping bella), embossed paper, and lace were all separately sent to me by some different friends. Yes, I was able to use 4 RAKed items :D They all go beautifully together, don't you think?

The paper has an iridescent look to it and is beautiful in the light.

Some SWEET Treats

Good Morning!

We at FBD are creating some fun Spooky but SWEET treats for your inspiration this week.

I found these sweet little bags at i {heart} papers and decided to get a few to make my little girl something special for a few of her friends at dance. I felt bad not taking one for all of the kids, but everyone did get a chocolate treat and I {think} they were happy with that. I plan to get more and make them (or something else) all something for Christmas :)

These treat holders were created using the clear treat bags and a bit of cardstock, glue and raffia. They were fun and easy to create and I think they turned out super cute! don't you?!?

Inside I added Candy Corn M&Ms which in my opinion tasted terrible! lol!!!

That was good, since my kids are allergic, I let them know quickly they were NOT missing out on anything.

Boo Who Gift Set

Good Morning.

This will be a quick post as I am headed out the door to my moms house.

The kids are having a 'fun Friday' where they get to make crafts and things.

A few weeks ago they learned knitting (for Han) and Crochet (for TR) basics and loved it

I have a few digis printed off for TR that he picked out from Simply Betty Stamps. He is going to be a vampire for Halloween (oh help me!) ha! and found a little digi deal that works perfectly for him. Hannah picked out a few for herself to. She fell in love with Fall Frolic Betty (we had to find one that did not have a skull, which was a little hard, lol) If you do not already know, her son has been diagnosed with throat cancer and they are having a card drive / donation for him. OK, I just got a phone call asking for EYEBALLS.

My kids are at my moms and they need eyeballs

They created ANGRY birds from Styrofoam balls, modeling clay, feathers ... and they need eyeballs :D

Good morning!

I have a card to share with you today using the current challenges going on at Freshly Brewed Challenges: MONTH LONG PRIZE CHALLENGE :Pumpkins and our weekly challenge Fancy Folds

I chose to use Cutie Pie Pumpkin for this card *she is on sale for this month only btw!*

My fancy fold is the Double Z fold found here at Splitcoast Stampers

I had a lot of fum making this card.

here is what I used:

DCWV lemon stack paper for the outside and MME garden vignettes for the inside

I had some scrap burlap that I placed at the bottom of the card and some leaf ribbon that I just cut and randomly places around the burlap. I also had a pumpkin diecut that was sent to me years ago from a friend *Norma I think* that went perfectly with this card. (yes, I am a hoarder.) The ribbon is from The Scrapbook Cottage and I colored her in with prismacolor markers.

House Mouse Fun!

I played along at the House Mouse and friends birthday bash blog hop party and won some ADORABLE house mouse stamps. I have to admit, the house mouse challenge blog was my FIRST ever challenge I was addicted to and always loved playing along. I met some of my very dearest friends there and also my bestest friend that God had been saving for me to meet until the perfect time.. and he did. :) So the house mouse group will forever have a very special meaning to me.

As I was saying, I won candy!!! and this stamp was one of the ones I received. I was a little scared at first. That is a lot of coloring and I was not sure I could pull it off. I still need more practice :D but I do love how it turned out. I colored this with my prismacolor markers. The floor and bricks were created using SU chalks and eyeshadow applicators.

I can't believe that Halloween is just around the corner!!! My kids are wanting to go trick or treating this year. I have put it off in years before because they have such bad food allergies. They are older now and know that they cant eat EVERYTHING they get and my little girl is getting too big and I know will not be wanting to do this very much longer. SOOO against all that is in me, we are going. My little girl picked out an outfit that was sortof girly and frilly so she can wear it to costume day at her dance and for trick or treating. (pink and black) little did I know it was a witch. IT has a tiny little witch hat inside. She is SO excited about that. I am not so much, lol!!! and my little boy wanted to be a skeleton. In looking for that, he found a Dracula outfit that he HAD TO HAVE and would not stop begging... so I have a witch and a vampire in my house :/.(( My mom laughed at me. Yea, she thinks it is funny because I did the "I will not let them dress up as anything scary or as a witch or evil... blah blah blah....)) Oh goodness. In line at the store my son told the people behind us "My mom does not celebrate Halloween, but I am going to be a vampire." Yea, I imagine They were only a little confused :D hahaha! My son also ran around wearing the cape singing "I am Tommy the Toothless Vampire!" hahah! HE is missing his two front and bottom teeth (he has a big hole when he smiles :) HAHAHA! I have to admit, he makes the perfect toothless vampire ;)

OK, enough of my rambling. My little girl was playing with her daddy, brother, and a little girl in the neighborhood yesterday. She ended up jamming her pinky finger and is just miserable today ;) poor thing! So I am off to spend some time with her sitting on the couch, watching tv, maybe doing a little crafting. not sure yet.

Happy Friday everyone!

I have been running around all day fighting *I mean teaching* my kids. Whew, you start off trying to stay positive and have a GOOD day and Satan just tries and tries to throw you a curve ball!!! Goodness. I admit I lost my cool for a bit, but God always wins and reminds me what is going on and that I can not let little things like that effect me. I am created in His image in his likeness... and that is just how it is going to be! Take that!! :D

I created this fun little card using some clear stamps from a house mouse halloween set. I have had this set for a few years now and have never even opened it (hangs head in shame)

I really had a lot of fun making this spooky and sweet little card. Not sure I like the bling on the bat wings, but I love it on the ghost.

We are having a fun challenge this week at Freshly Brewed Challenges and hope that you will be able to play along. Our challenge this week is Fancy Folds.

Here is the card I came up with using the Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamp

Cutie Pie Ice Skating *which is currently on sale!*

First of all, I decided to make a felt pocket that could hold a tag or gift card for the recipient.

But also, at the same time, the little felt pocket can be removed and used for the very same thing. A gift tag / gift card holder, or little treat holding ornament.

The little flower wreath decorated with beautiful pearls is hiding underneath the fun pocket.

The top of the wreath has a very secured button so that the felt pocket is easy to add and remove.

but that does not equal a fancy fold right?

My granny recently went through some things with her health and diabietes that lead her to only be able to eat certain things and drink decaf coffee, which she hated for a bit :(

Well, she has gotten into the swing of it, and I wanted to send her a card that would make her laugh... so this is the sentiment I chose for the inside :D

I found a little poem to go along with this weeks post:

Pumpkin poem

One day I found two pumpkin seeds.
I planted one and pulled the weeds.
It sprouted roots and a big, long vine.
A pumpkin grew; I called it mine.
The pumpkin was quite round and fat.
(I really am quite proud of that.)
But there is something I'll admit
That has me worried just a bit.
I ate the other seed, you see.
Now will it grow inside of me?

(I'm so relieved since I have found

that pumpkins only grow in the ground)

I used orange Papertrey Inc cardstock as well as extras from my stash. I used white ink to distress and purple tulle for the bg to add texture to this fun and simple card.The road sign was created using printed sentiments using word. She is colored with prismacolor markers.

A Sweet Treat

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a lovely day so far.
The weather is cooler here today and we are planning to spend some time on the deck just hanging out playing games, drawing and things like that. The kids allergies seem to be bothering them pretty bad though. I thought they might be getting sick, so we stayed home from church. They are up and playing and are not sick (thank goodness). I hope their allergy meds kick in soon so they are not quite so moody with their irritated eyes and noses. icky!

Soooo... today I have something fun to share with you. Remember when I shared my fuzzy green candy corn monster card with you? I had also started on THIS one, but never got around to finishing it until this morning :D.

Meet Cotton Candy Monster

To create this card I simply was inspired by the sketch at Eat Sleep Stamp. Everything just fell together after that :). I used MME bright Dots paper, papertrey inc white and black cardstock, leftover ribbon from stash, prismacolor markers, orange fun flock, pink and orange cardstock from stash, little white puff balls :D, pink prima flowers, martha stewart border punch and of course, the Fresh Brewed Designs digital stamp: Cotton Candy Monster.

Good ... Afternoon?

I am not usually posting in the afternoon. I know. Weird and out of character for me :D but it is Saturday, so somewhere in the mix that makes it ok ... right? :D

Good morning!

Its FRIDAY!!! WOOT WOOT!!

I know you are all as excited as I am. I feel like I have been going and going and going... and will still be going all weekend :) but look forward to those little breaks and moments where I can just sit down and relax. Those are few and far between these days with school and dance... I know you all know what I am talking about. :) But at the same time I would not have it any other way :D

I created a fun card for you using my

Fresh Brewed Designs stamp: I'll Take Mine To Go

I had a lot of fun making this card. I had some scrap papertrey inc cardstock that was just sitting on my table, and some walnut ink stain that I gave my mom for her bday for her crafting goodness, but it did not work on her projects, so I thought hmm... before I take it back, let me see what this stuff does. I admit that at first I was not loving it and it did not do what I THOUGHT it would, but I need a slightly slicker paper for that maybe? It did create this deep leathery looking band. I spritzed it with the terracotta and java inks then a splash of shimmerz spritz. While it was wet I smooshed the heck out of it! Crumple crumple wiggle and smash!!! Then I took some ink (my mom found for me a few bdays ago that is called Java and smells like coffee! love!!!) to distress the crumpled edges.

The TO GO Vita Coffee holder was super simple. It is a 4 x 6 piece of cardstock scored at 1/2 inch, 2 inches, and 3 1/2 inches. I then took an oval nestie to create the window, ran it through the cuttlebug with a cute embossing folder, used the yummy java ink to distress and then used a strong glue to add it to the card base!

Very fun and really honestly easy card to create! :)

This song has touched my heart in such a big way... and God laid it on my heart to share it with you!

There have been many days I have felt like I do not deserve Gods love. I feel like I have not spent as much time with him as I should. I have not spent as much time praying and getting to know him like I should. I NEED to make time and I NEED him more than anything.. but satan slips in his two cents and he says .. why? Why in the world would God love you? What have you done for him? What is so important about you that would make him say ... yes. I am proud of you. That is my child? And I hang my head and think. Nothing. I have done nothing GREAT. I am not who I want to be or who my heart tells me I can be. I know I can be better... but that sneaky little voice still slides in and tells me I dont have time. I had a bad day and am not worthy of being in Gods presence.

Well, guess what? God is not that kind of God.

HE LOVES ME! For ME! and he loves YOU for YOU!!!

He made us all and has a special reason and purpose for each of us. If for now that means that I am to raise my children, teach them, drive them around... that is my job! Nothing is too big or too small in Gods eyes as long as we are doing it all for his glory! On the days we don't feel worthy. Pray harder. On the days we cant hear him or don't feel like smiling. Sing his praises louder. God is with us and he loves us more than we could EVER EVER EVER imagine. HE has a SPECIAL plan and purpose for each of us.

This card is a quick and simple little card I created using the sketch at I heart to stamp - I heart sketches.

Cutie Pie Ice Skating Rubber Stamp

I used atd cardstock stack for this entire card. I usually mix and match, but not this time :)

I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder and a lacy circles nestability die. I took some tulip snow paint and traced around the inside circle of the die, although it is hard to see it good in this picture.

I am off for some coffee and an early trip to bed.

Good Morning.

It is time for a new challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenges.

I created this 3D project using a large blank ledger pad. (approx 8 inches by 11 inches)

I added a cover using some bazzil cardstock in terracotta, some martha stewart double sided paper, my cricut for the circles, a martha stewart border punch, and Spicy Pumpkin Latte Rubber Stamp.

I first want to introduce to you

CANDY CORN MONSTER

I colored this guy with my prismacolor markers. Then I covered him with meadow flower soft. I LOVE how he turned out! The kids just want to rub and feel of the card... and I was mean and made them wait until AFTER I snapped my picture, lol!!! The black patterned paper is double sided Bo Bunny Boo Crew, the green dot paper is from a MME bright dots stack. The orange paper is scrap and the white cardstock by Papertey Inc. I stamped the sentiment using a Dear Lizzy American Craft clear stamp set and cut out the circles with my cricut. The big circle was cut using a Nestabilities lacy circle die

Good Morning and thank you for joining in on the Fresh Brewed Designs Save The Hooters blog hop.

We are so happy that you are joining us today as we spread smiles, share beautiful projects and most of all raise awareness. The word Cancer is one that makes us all cringe and sometimes turn away.

That does not make it GO AWAY it just means we try to avoid talking about it and pretending it is not there.

It is there and it is a reality. I know most of us have had family or friends who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer or know someone who has died of cancer related causes.

One of those cancers is Breast Cancer. In the year 2011 in the United States alone approximately 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women have been reported, approximately 57,650 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer, and approximately 39,520 deaths from breast cancer (women).

My husbands grandmother has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer twice in just 5 years resulting in two successful surgeries where they had to remove most of both of her breasts. Her last surgery was just weeks ago and she is doing very well (this pic was taken over the weekend at my in-laws home). I am dedicating part of this post to her and part to my friends who have suffered or had scares and worries that they might be diagnosed. I, above all other things, believe in the power of prayer. With God all things are possible. We do not have to do these things alone. He is with us and he sends friends and angels there to be beside us. Only through prayer and trusting will any of the things we are wanting to do be accomplished. While you try to spread the word, raise awareness and send smiles, remember to pray as well.

I know I like to keep a stash of cards that have fewer layers and less embellies to mail out if I need one.

However, I admit, this card WAS hard for me to make :D

I love my layers and popped images and dimension.

I created this card using Making Memories dot paper, Papertrey inc black and white card stock, American Craft button, Pima flower, Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacy Circles, prismacolor markers, white grosgrain ribbon from clear dollar stamps and a newly released Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamp: Knit and Purl Girl.
